The 11,500 colleagues who work at ODEON Cinemas Group are firmly at the heart of our strategy. We want to give every guest an inspiring entertainment experience. Our people make that happen.
We use our People Strategy to help every colleague build skills and achieve their potential. We’ve mapped out our entire colleague journey – from recruitment to saying goodbye – so that we can boost engagement at every step.
VISION AND VALUES
Our vision: creating inspiring entertainment experiences for every guest
Our four pairs of linked values: fun & passion, quality & service, trust & respect, co-operation & accountability.
With over 360 cinemas and 11,500 colleagues, our vision and values are the golden threads that run throughout everything our colleagues do.
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
We know that our people don’t just want a job; they want skills for life. We work hard to provide fantastic training and development opportunities at every level. Our recently launched hospitality and retail skills training schemes are supporting our Cinema Hosts and Guest Experience Supervisors to keep discovering their talents, honing their skills and progress further within the business.
REWARD & RECOGNITION
We use our Legendary Service Awards to reward those who choose to have long-lasting careers with us. We also have two big reward schemes, our Be Outstanding scratchcards and team award, that inspire individual and team achievement.
HEALTH & SAFETY
We take health & safety seriously. Everyone across our Group is trained on a regular basis and our cinemas are audited by internal teams and external agencies. We use feedback and performance reviews to make sure health & safety is ingrained within our culture.
In 2017, we were proud to dedicate more than 54,000 hours to colleague development and over 17,000 hours to feedback conversations.
Through our Sharetember initiative - a month dedicated to learning and sharing incredible ideas and innovation across our business, we had over 2,000 new ideas shared and 150 awards were handed out to our Sharetember 'Changemakers'
